Trick-or-Treat 2008

Halloween is drawing near and Maryland Street is gearing up for Trick-or-Treating at it’s finest. October 31st is on a Friday, so we are expecting larger crowds and later hours. We’ve done no press release this year, but we’re still getting lots of calls from publications and community groups, and we seem to be in all the usual listings.

Down-home scare down: Forget everything you thought you knew about Maryland Street in University Heights. From dusk to 9 p.m. on Oct. 31, the place is being turned into the Nightmare on Maryland Street Scarefest. The haunted-house extravaganza is a joint effort of four twisted neighbors who have ditched the traditional pink flamingos and garden gnomes for handcrafted tombstones, a re-creation of the creepy Bates Motel, a giant animated smoke-breathing dragon and a corpse-infested funeral parlor. Needless to say, this ain't your typical trick-or-treat stop. Norbert's Visit to a Magic Garden

Norbert recently visited children in the magic garden of Lady Sofya and Lady Nancy. The children fell in love with Norbert and they played make-believe all day long. Little Jeffrey was a brave pirate and tried to protect the others. The little girls fed snacks to Norbert and Sadie even read Norbert a story about puppies! Everyone had a fun day exploring in the magic garden!
